Course agenda:
- Overview on the pipe installation process: Flexible and rigid pipes; Load Class and markings and NZS 3725 introduction.
- Pre-Construction: Delivery inspection: Manufacturing defects acceptance; Storage and stringing; Stacking requirement; Moving and handling and Lifting methods.
- Load Types: Dead loads; Live loads: Construction loads; and PipeClass3* introduction.
- Trench/Embankment Construction: Correct bedding; Support Types; Backfills; Compaction requirements and other good practices.
- Laying Concrete Pipe: top-up pipes, Rubber ring types; Joint types; Fitting rubber rings and Curved concrete pipes.
- Field assessment: Visual inspections; Soil density and Joint testing.
- Cracking and Defects: Self-healing, Circumferential cracking and Longitudinal cracking.
