Humes COVID-19 Level 3 Response
 

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday to move to Level 3 from Tuesday 28 April, given our planning and preparation to comply with this new status level, effective from 12pm on Tuesday 28 April all Humes distribution sites across NZ (i.e. sales branches) will be open for contactless collection and/or contactless delivery. Staffing will operate at reduced levels initially, with additional staff phased-in over the following week however this should not affect the service provided to you. 

 

Account Managers, Estimators and Support roles will also be phased-in over coming weeks however all of these people will continue to operate on a work-from-home-basis where possible. Our various concrete factories across NZ will have a more gradual restart process from Tuesday 28 April, however logistics functions at all sites (incl. forklift operators) will be operating as per normal at all factories from 12pm Tuesday 28 April to ensure concrete product is delivered to your project sites on time. Please connect with your local Humes representative as soon as possible to start planning for this. Likewise, if the Level 4 lockdown has substantially changed any of your project timings and subsequent product commitments (standard product and/or specials), please advise your local Humes representative as soon as possible.        

 

As you will be aware, Level 3 comes with additional considerations to safely operate and continue New Zealand’s push to eradicate Covid-19. We therefore thank you in advance for your patience and commitment if you enter one of our sites, and would like to give you the assurance that for any Humes staff and/or contractors (delivery drivers included) entering your site(s), that they will comply with any and all Level 3 considerations you have. To help us further prepare for this, please send your Level 3 Covid-19 Plan to your Humes representative as soon as practical.

 

Humes Covid-19 Level 3 Plan for all sites include key focus areas around hygiene (incl. regular site cleaning and hand sanitation), physical distancing (incl. maintaining at least 2m at all times), and contact tracing ability (before entering a Humes site, everybody will be required to register their contact details with a Humes staff member). 

 

To minimise time spent at our sales branches, under Level 3 please email or call all product orders into the Humes Branch with a preferred collection time. This enables picking and packing to be completed in advance, with product placed in a designated pickup location outside the branch. Note that the entrance/exit gates will be locked during normal business hours however a Humes staff member will unlock them (after you call the branch) and assist you thereafter on a one in, one out basis. Entry into the branch for self-picking will be only considered on a case-by-case basis for essential service customers only, with Level 3 hygiene and physical distancing conditions applying. For any further specific questions or considerations on our Covid-19 Level 3 Plan, please direct these to your local Humes representative. A summary version of Humes Covid-19 Level 3 Plan can also be provided to you if required (on request).
